Dual Eclipse: Demo available soon!
It’s been a minute, but I’m happy to say it’s because things have been going so well. This year I was able to meet amazing folks at GDC, participate in my first Ludam Dare (with a team of 38!), and I’m well on schedule for releasing my first game. Level 2 looks awesome and really brings the dungeon to this dungeon crawler. I’m happy to say it will be included in the upcoming demo and I can’t wait for folks to play it.
New Font!
The font I was using before clashed with the game’s style, but thankfully I came across the work of somepx’s itch page in the past and I landed on his Saga font. I love the quality of his work and this font really fits in so nicely to the look of the game.

Adding Verticality
Implementing verticality into the game has been something I’ve wanted to do since the start, so it was a pleasant surprise to have it come together so quickly. With just a few extra lines of code it was working right away and after testing I landed on something I could implement consistently.
I’ve always loved the overlapping/connectedness of Metroid and Souls games, so it was important to me to achieve a level where anything inaccessible felt naturally slotted into a series of unlocks and shortcuts. Implementing verticality to the game really opened up level design possibilities that made the second level far more interesting to explore and opens up options for upcoming development.
